A 2018 graduate of Tennessee Technological University, Taylor Rundell is coming into her fourth year as a Band Director at Bartlett High School. Before moving to Bartlett, Taylor earned a B.M. in Music Education from Tennessee Tech, and then taught in Middle Tennessee. While she has been an integral part of the Bartlett team, namely in her leadership of the high brass section, Mrs. Rundell has successfully taught on all levels and musical disciplines, including band, middle school & high school choir, and elementary music.
In her time at Bartlett, Taylor has been a key component in the growth and development of the band program. Over the last three years, Taylor helped lead the marching band to its first Bands of America Regional Finals appearance in 2021, two bronze medals at BOA Regionals in 2022, a gold medal at the BOA Memphis regional in 2023, and the band’s first appearance at Bands of America Grand National Championships where they secured a spot in Semi-Finals in November of 2023. Since Taylor has been assistant at Bartlett, the concert ensembles have received exclusively superior ratings in grades IV and VI at WTSBOA Concert Festival. For the last two years, the Concert Band and Wind Symphony have both been awarded the American School Band Director’s Association Award of Distinction. Taylor assists in rehearsing the three concert ensembles at Bartlett in addition to training the marching band. Taylor also teaches Music Theory at BHS. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Taylor manages the Bartlett City Schools Band Private Lessons Program, assists with planning instruction and organizing events for the high school band, and occasionally performs professionally on trumpet.
